The Nebraska Department of American Legion announced tournament selections on Saturday, January 14, 2012.
The Senior area tournament will be held at Valparaiso and state will be conducted in Wahoo.
The Junior area tournament in July will be hosted by Schuyler and the state tourney will be located in Chadron.
The coaching slate for the 2012 season is posted below:
Seniors: Nick Wiehn (head) and Bill McKenzie
Blue: Joe Leinen (head), Jake Spanjers, and Drew Danielson
Gold: LeRoy Ott (head), Bret Gardner, and Scott Nannen

In an effort to distribute committee duties more evenly among the committee members, at least two new members have been added with the possibility of one or two more being invited to join us. As it stands at this point, the Cornerstone Baseball Committee will be co-chaired by Scott Koch and Jack Vincent for the 2012 baseball year. For all intents and purposes, that shared responsibility is in effect at this time.

An interest level for the 2012 season of most people who are eligible to play Legion Baseball was taken at the end of the 2011 season. In the case of the Optimist (Pony) players who must move up, a postcard was received or follow-up phone call was made. All other eligible players from the 2011 teams were asked by coaches on a one-on-one basis. If the numbers remain static, there should be three teams in 2012.
