CO-CHAIRMAN'S COMMENTS

The Cornerstone Seniors got an RBI single from Chad Hulse in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday to gain an 11-10 victory over SOS at Levitt Stadium before 250 fans. Logan Killion got a one-out single and later scored to tie the game at 10 apiece. CJ Huber scored the winning run when he scored from third base on Hulse's walk off single to left field.
Jordan Walz was the winning pitcher in relief of Dustin Schumacher who relieved starter Chad Hulse.
Logan Killion and Evan Norton led the seven-hit attack with two hits apiece.
The Seniors are back in action Friday when they travel to Valparaiso for an 8 p.m. game.
The Cornerstone Gold scored eight runs on 11 hits Wednesday but it wasn't enough to win its season opener against SOS as they ended up on the short end of a 17-8 score.
Mitch Friesen led the attack with three hits and Braden Knight, Jake Stilwell aned Grant Suddarth added two hits to the Gold offensive.
The Gold are back on the diamond Sunday at Duncan Field when Hastings Runza hosts the York first-year team.
The Cornerstone Baseball Committee members appreciate the strong following we had Monday evening at the opening ceremonies. We also enjoy showing off the kids to the parents, grandparents, family members and friends. Also, we hope there are big crowds at the games beginning Wednesday when the Gold and Seniors start their seasons at Levitt Stadium.

Fans are asked to clean the litter from the bleachers on their way out to include pop bottles, popcorn sacks, and wrappers from hot dogs and candy. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
